In his first month at the club, Robins striker Matty Taylor has been nominated for the POTM award. Matty has hit the ground running at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium, scoring after just 13 minutes on his debut in the 3-1 home defeat to Wycombe Wanderers. And he would follow that up with another three important goals during the month, helping the Robins on their way to a vital 10 points in the club's fight to beat the drop.
Luke Southwood is the next Robins player who has been nominated for the award. Luke kept back-to-back clean sheets in our victories over Cambridge United and Blackpool early on in February. The Robins shot stopper also saved two penalties, one each in both fixtures against Wycombe during the month. Southwood was once again one of the teams standout performers, making a numerous amount of crucial saves throughout an action packed month for Town.
Town defender Will Ferry is also up for the February Player of the Month award. Ferry started five of the six Sky Bet League One games during the month, again providing an attacking threat down that left side. It was his Man of the Match performance against Port Vale in which he really stood out, putting in a superb shift before netting what proved to be the winner, beating two defenders before coolly slotting home in front of the Prestbury Road End.
