Essex native Jack Barthram signed a one-year deal at the World of Smile Stadium following his release from Swindon Town.
Like his close friend Jack Munns, Barthram started out at Tottenham Hotspur, progressing through the youth ranks before moving to Wiltshire in June 2013. He went on to make his professional debut in a Capital One Cup tie against Torquay United.
The 21-year-old made 15 appearances for the County Ground outfit in his first season, but found it hard to break into the first time in the 2014/15 campaign, registering just eight showings. He was also an unused substitute in Cheltenham’s 5-0 Emirates FA Cup victory over Swindon.
Right-back Barthram has signed a one-year deal in Gloucestershire, and has been handed squad number two this campaign.
