Will Mills nominated as club's Community Captain

19 January 2024

As part of the EFL's inaugural Community Weekends initiative, club's have been asked to nominate a Community Captain to celebrate their work and impact in the local community.

And we're delighted to say that community coach and Premier League Kicks lead Will Mills has been nominated as the Cheltenham Town captian.

Originally from Exeter, Will started as a volunteer with the Community Trust back in 2018 while studying at the University of Gloucestershire.

Will then became a part time staff member working for the trust for a further two years before finally becoming a full-time staff member after completing his university course in Sports Management.

He has been very impactful in the heart of the local community, particularly in the Whaddon area where the football club is based.

In the last few years he has taken charge of the Premier League Kicks programme just a stones throw from the club, helping provide sessions for young adults in the local area.

Will's journey and his work epitomises what the Cheltenham Town Commmunity Trust is all about, providing opportunities in sport and growing young people's wellbeing and lifestyles.

Congratulations, Will and keep up the excellent work!
