Update On Jamie

6 August 2013

Positive news on Jamie Cureton's injury.

Jamie Cureton is to undergo a 5-6 week rehab process after dislocating his shoulder at the weekend.

The 37 year-old striker suffered the injury after scoring Cheltenham Town's first goal of the season versus Burton at the weekend and the results of his scan were confirmed earlier this afternoon.

Jamie won't require surgery and Ian Weston believes it may be 5 weeks until he is back in training and a further week before he can thought about for selection.

"Jamie will now start a 5-6 week rehab process," said Ian.

"The good news was that there was minimal soft tissue damage and he won't require any surgery. This is Jamie's first dislocation so we will be working hard to strengthen the shoulder after we take it out of the sling. We'll aim to get him out of the sling by the end of the week and that's when we'll begin to strengthen the shoulder."

The injury to Jamie came as a blow for the Robins as he had just opened the scoring against Burton but it's now likely that Jamie won't appear for the first team until the end of September or start of October.
