Make A Stand For Charity

13 January 2014

Local businesses are being urged to support local charities with the Make A Stand campaign.

The Robins are inviting local businesses to buy their seat at a champagne lunch in April and then donate their FREE draw ticket to a charity of their choice.

The charity who receives the donated draw ticket will then be in the running to win the naming rights to the Main Stand here at the Abbey Business Stadium offering them exposure like no other.

"What better way to promote the wonderful work of charities by having our main stand named after one of the great causes," said Robins chairman Paul Baker.

"We hope to have around a hundred in the draw so it could have all the excitement and drama of a penalty shoot-out."

The NatWest Bank are the first to back the scheme and will be donating their Make A Stand Draw ticket to Cheltenham’s Cobalt Unit.

"The Cobalt Unit are celebrating their 50th anniversary and have done half a century of amazing work – saving thousands of lives on the way," said NatWest Relationship Director, Barry Chapman.

"If our ticket comes out of the hat we’ll  defer the right to name the stand to the Cobalt Unit – which means the charity will get even more attention and profile."

The club launched their Make A Stand Campaign last month with the aim to give businesses and fans the chance to have their name on the stand for a whole season by enjoying a day out and a champagne lunch.

"We have been pleased with the early response but we want to give as many as possible the chance to sign up, enjoy our big day and have the opportunity of winning such a special prize," added the Robins’ Chairman.

Tickets to the Make A Stand big day, which is being held before the home game with Southend United on Saturday 5 April 2014, cost is just £120 and on top of the champagne lunch you will obviously obtain FREE entry into the draw and a seat in the main stand to watch the big match.

You can also purchase your Make A Stand tickets online. Buying online is the easiest way so follow the link below and enter the password 'CHAMPAGNE' and you could be in with a chance of seeing your name on the Main Stand.
