Goldson Loan Renewed

7 January 2014

Connor Goldson will remain at Cheltenham Town for a further month we can confirm.

Defender Connor Goldson will remain a Cheltenham Town player for a further month after a loan extension was agreed with Shrewsbury Town.

The 21 year-old defender initially joined the club on loan at the end of November with the spell set to end on January 4th but Mark Yates and Graham Turner have confirmed a deal which will see Connor's loan extended until the end of the month with a 24 hour recall option for the Shrews.

For Connor, it is a chance for first team football and he is delighted to have extended his stint at the Abbey Business Stadium.

“I’m enjoying it here and looking forward to playing a few more games and helping us to get some more points on the board," Connor told www.ctfc.com.

“It was disappointing to have a couple of games called off because we all wanted to bounce back and get another run going after the Mansfield game but we’re all looking ahead to the weekend now.

“I’m happy to be playing regularly and over the next month hopefully that can continue and we can keep some more clean sheets and get some more wins.”

To date he has made three starting appearances and one from the bench for Cheltenham Town with two clean sheets coming against Fleetwood and Exeter whilst he partnered Troy Brown in the back four.
