Bristol City to visit the WoS Stadium
Cheltenham Town will take on Bristol City on Monday 25th July at the World of Smile Stadium in preparation for the 2016-17 season.This is the fourth pre-season friendly to be confirmed for the Robins however it is slightly different from the rest as it is "Johnson Vs Johnson".
This friendly will have a little bit of extra spice as Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson will be up against his son Lee who is the manager of the Championship side, something that both men are very aware of.
With his tongue firmly in cheek, the City head coach said: “The Johnson Cup is up for grabs again! Dad has the trophy at the moment after his Yeovil team spanked Oldham 4-0. I had to hand over the cup after beating his side 1-0 the season before. That makes it’s a very important third match.”
Robins' Gaffer Gary said, "Lee has thrown down the gauntlet! He's probably going to spend £10m or more just to win this Johnson Cup as the rivalry is so fierce!
"However it is a great pre-season game to have and it will be a really good test for us and hopefully for them as well."
