Community Trust host Utilita Girls Cup Qualifier

15 November 2023

The Cheltenham Town Community Trust hosted their qualifier for the Utilita Girls Cup at Tewkesbury Secondary School on Tuesday.

The competition is back for another season following the four-year partnership extension between the EFL and Utilita ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The seven-a-side tournament allows under 13s to represent their local EFL club, looking to reach the grand final prior to the EFL Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium.

Over 6,000 girls take part each year and it all begins with every EFL Club organising a local qualifying competition. We had 90 participants from 10 schools compete against eachother and they were:

  • Tewkesbury School
  • Pittville School
  • Cheltenham Bournside School
  • Dene Magna
  • Cleeve School
  • All Saints Academy
  • The Crypt School
  • Henly Bank High School
  • Churchdown School Academy
  • The Cotswold School

But there could only be one winner and it was The Crypt School from Gloucester who defeated Henly Bank 2-0 in the final.

They will now represent Cheltenham Town in the South Area Finals in 2024, continuing their bid to make it to the grand final later next year.
