Travel News: Coventry City fixture

24 April 2018

Supporters are advised that engineering work is taking place this weekend on the railway around Cheltenham Spa station and to plan their journey to the LCI Rail Stadium in advance.

Network Rail has notified the club it is shutting the line between Gloucester and Worcester Shrub Hill stations for work as part of its ongoing rail modernisation programme.

This will mean no trains can operate between those stations on either Saturday 28 April or Sunday 29 April – buses will replace trains instead.

On both dates, Great Western Railway (GWR) services between Bristol Temple Meads and Great Malvern will terminate at Gloucester instead, where buses will run to Worcester.

CrossCountry trains from the south will terminate at Gloucester and trains from the north will terminate at Birmingham New Street – buses will run between Birmingham and Gloucester.

And Arriva Trains Wales services between Maesteg and Cheltenham Spa will terminate at Gloucester, where buses will run to Cheltenham Spa and vice versa.

Network Rail are advising those wishing to travel by train to check their journey before they travel at GWR.com/Check or NationalRail.co.uk.
