Kevin Dawson set to sign for the Robins

17 May 2017

Joins later this summer

We are delighted to announce our first signing of the summer, Kevin Dawson.

Dawson, 26, has turned down a contract extension offer from his current club Yeovil and will join the Robins on a two year deal starting on July 1st when his contract at Huish Park comes to an end.

He joined Yeovil in 2013 from Shelbourne in Dublin, signed by then Glovers' boss Gary Johnson and scored in their League One play-off semi final against Sheffield United, before helping them reach the Championship.

The Irishman can play across the midfield or anywhere down the right-hand side.

Now Cheltenham manager Gary Johnson commented, " I'm really pleased to be signing Kevin Dawson as our first new summer addition. He epitomises everything I want in a player and I know he will become a fans' favourite with his commitment and enthusiasm for the game, along with a work rate that is second to none.

"We had success together at Yeovil and he had offers from a few different teams so I'm glad that I've convinced him to join us. He gives us options as he can play in a few different positions."
