Tom Nichols became a Cheltenham Town player on transfer deadline day in January 2020, signing on a loan deal until the end of the season from League One side Bristol Rovers.

The attacker made his debut the following day in a 2-1 win over Morecambe on Saturday 1 February.

Born in Somerset, Nichols career began at Exeter City where he progressed through the youth system at the Grecians.

He spent time on loan at Dorchester Town, Hereford United and Bath City and then went onto make a big impact in the first team at Exeter, attracting the attention of clubs higher up the pyramid.

It was Peterborough United who swooped for his signature in January 2016 and he moved to the Posh for an undisclosed fee.

Eighteen months later he returned to the West Country when Bristol Rovers paid £350,000 to take him to the Memorial Stadium.

He made over a century of appearances for the Pirates in all competitions before joining Cheltenham on loan.
