Covid-19: Return to football guide

On this page please find the information you need to know about watching matches at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium following the return of fans during the 2020/21 season.

To keep fans up to date with the latest on ticketing, covid-19 safety, iFollow and more we will be updating this page on our website with the newest information available to us to keep you in the know about watching matches again at Cheltenham.

What time do I need to arrive?

You need to arrive at least 45 minutes before kick-off. There will be a controlled exit from the stadium after the full time whistle.

Do I need to wear a face covering?

Yes, everyone inside the stadium will need to wear a face covering. The reason is because the Jonny-Rocks Stadium is being opened on the basis of one metre social distancing with mitigations as opposed to the recommended two metres. If we open with two metre social distancing the ground capacity will reduce to around 600 so in order to get more people in, face coverings are mandatory.

What do I do when I arrive at the stadium?

Once you get inside the ground you need to go to your seat or standing place on the terrace straight away. At the entrance supporters will be subject to a temperature check and will be asked to confirm that they're not displaying any symptoms of covid-19. There will be one-way systems in place inside with supporters asked to keep to the right. There will also be hand hygiene stations and controlled access to the toilets.

What is the situation with seating?

All fans who have purchased a seated ticket will have been allocated a seat to watch the game from. Seats that are not in use are marked with a red cross.

Where do I stand if I have a terrace ticket?

The terracing areas have been divided into sections and spectators need to remain in their allotted section as confirmed on their ticket and maintain social distancing. For supporters in open areas, including the front section of the Paddock, we advise to dress accordingly.

Will there be catering available?

There will be no catering available inside the stadium on a matchday. The main bar does however have a limited menu available - fans must order from the outside and then collect their order from inside the bar. Supporters are welcome to bring food and drink with them, preferably in a clear bag so it can be quickly checked by stewards.

Are the toilets open?

Yes the toilets are open inside the stadium with a one way system in place where possible and numbers entering will be limited. Stewards will manage queues but to try and speed things up, additional towel dispensers and hand sanitizer will be available.

Will I be able to park at the stadium?

There will be no capacity to park at the stadium on matchday. We encourage all fans to travel independently to home matches. Supporters are however able to park at the Parklands Community Centre.

Will the ticket office be open?

The ticket office will be open for enquiries but not for the selling of tickets.

Will the club shop be open?

The club shop at the stadium will not be open. However a temporary shop will be in operation from the main bar. There will be no cash payments - only card payments will be accepted.

Is anyone able to collect my season ticket on my behalf?

Yes, we will ask them to confirm the name and postcode the ticket was booked under in order to do this.

Will season tickets be available to purchase for the remainder of the season? Can season ticket holders who received a refund re-purchase their ticket?

Not initially, we will be looking into this after the initial batch of matches.

Can I purchase tickets for future matches?

A limited number of tickets will be made available for general sale for matches. Please keep an eye on and the club's social media channels for details.

What happens if Gloucestershire moves up into Tier 3?

At the moment season ticket holders will only be issued with tickets in their pack that are fixtures up until Boxing Day. We initially allocated tickets up until then and due to staff being on furlough we've not yet been able to set up the next batch of tickets, though this will happen during December. We will be in touch with season ticket holders and will provide updates on this situation if Gloucestershire is moved up into Tier 3.

Will I be in my preferred seat for the matches?

We have allocated socially distanced seating arrangements according to the social bubbles that were in September so there's no guarantee you will be positioned in your preferred seat. For reasons of time it will not be possible to adjust these yet, please allow us time to get the initial games through before contacting us about any alterations that may be possible for future matches.

Will I still be able to watch matches on iFollow by purchasing a match pass for games?

Yes, you can still watch home games on iFollow by purchasing a match pass before each game online.

As a season ticket holder, will I still have free access to watch the matches on iFollow?

If season ticket holders still require their free access to watch the games on iFollow, for example if you are shielding and do not wish to come to the stadium, we can arrange for your free access to remain on your account.
