The voting is now open for the December Player of the Month award, our final installment of the award of 2023.
Presented by our sponsors HGV Drivers UK, you can vote for your winner by clicking HERE.
Robins midfielder Liam Sercombe is the first player up for the December award. Sercs enjoyed a prolific month in front of goal, adding another two goals to his tally. Our number eight scored the all-important winner in our away victory over Carlisle United before netting the opener in our 2-2 draw with Reading. He also provided an assist in our Boxing Day triumph against Shrewsbury Town.
George Lloyd got himself off the mark in December and is the next player nominated for the award. Lloydy notched two assists during the month including his brilliant run and pass to set up Will Goodwin for the opener away to Bristol Rovers. The forward then netted his first League One goals for the Robins since March 2022, scoring either side of the break in the win over Shrewsbury.
The final player up for the award is the skipper, Sean Long. Longy was ever present in the side once again through December playing every minute our our five league games throughout the month. The defender helped the side to two consecutive clean sheets around Christmas, continuing his important influence both in attack and defence for Darrell Clarke's side.
The voting will close next Tuesday 16th January before the winner is announced and presented at our reverse fixture with Carlisle.
