Six loan players return to parent clubs

2 January 2024

The club can confirm that six of its seven loan players have now returned to their parent clubs following the opening of the January transfer window.

Luciano D'Auria-Henry (Fulham), Oli Hammond (Nottingham Forest), Josh Williams (Birmingham City), Jovan Malcolm (West Bromwich Albion) and Cameron Peupion (Brighton and Hove Albion) have all ended their loan spells at the club.

We'd like to thank them for all their efforts and also thank their parent clubs for allowing them to spend the first half of the season at Cheltenham Town.

Meanwhile defender Owen Bevan has also returned to parent club AFC Bournemouth where he continues his recovery following his recent injury.

His fitness situation will be assessed toward the end of January with the view of a possible return on loan.

After our New Year's Day defeat to Northampton Town, manager Darrell Clarke spoke on the situation:

"We have now sent a lot of players back from their loans and we wish them all the best.

"This has allowed us to free up funds that we are going to need to bring in two or three quality players into the team."

As previously announced, Ellis Chapman has joined Sligo Rovers in the Republic of Ireland until the summer and Dan Adshead is on loan to AFC Fylde in the National League until the end of January.

The club can also confirm that midfielder James Olayinka has been made available for loan or permanent transfer.
