Cheltenham Town are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Josh Harrop, following a successful trial period at the club.
The 28-year-old becomes our first new addition of the January transfer window and joins the Robins on a deal until the end of the season.
Harrop spent the first half of the season as a free agent following his departure from Northamption Town at the end of last term.
The midfielder came through the ranks at Manchester United, memorably scoring on his Premier League debut, in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
He then moved on to Championship outfit Preston North End where he spent five years, also enduring loan spells with Ipswich Town and Fleetwood Town dueing his time at Deepdale.
Harrop now arrives at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium as manager Darrell Clarke's second signing of his tenure, and is available for tomorrow's clash with Bolton Wanderers.
Upon signing, Josh said:
"I'm really delighted to be here, it's a great opportunity for me and I'm delighted to finally get the deal done.
"I've been working really hard since I've been a free agent and I've been able to show that to the gaffer and now he's given me that opportunity to come in and play until the end of the season.
"I can play as number eight, a number 10, I like to play through the middle and try to score goals and pop up with assists."
Josh's transfer is in association with club partners Little Jet Company and his player sponsorship is available now for half price.
Welcome to the Robins, Josh!
