Match Preview: Leyton Orient (A)

5 April 2024

It's away action again for the Robins this weekend who travel to London to take on Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League One this Saturday 6th April (3:00PM).

Darrell Clarke and his team head to the capital off the back of a mixed Easter Weekend, which saw a massive 2-1 win over relegation rivals Fleetwood Town followed by a narrow home defeat to Exeter City.

Town arrive at the Gaughan Group Stadium in touching distance of safety, knowing a win could potentially see the club rise above the dotted line for the first time since mid-August.

The hosts on the other hand have enjoyed their return to the third tier this term, after their Sky Bet League Two title victory last season saw the O's back into League One for the first time since the 2014/15 campaign.

Their recent defeats to high-flying Lincoln City and Peterborough United won't have taken anything away from an impressive term, which sees them currently sit 10th in the table on 58 points.

The fixture will see the Robins return to Brisbane Road for the first time since our own League Two title winning season, the clash ending in a 2-0 victory to the Robins back in October 2020.

It was Richie Wellens' side who prevailed in the last meeting between the two teams however, as two late goals saw Orient snatch and grab three points at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium back in December.

Travel Disruptions:

*Please be aware of the travel restrictions in place this weekend and plan your journey to the Gaughan Group Stadium accordingly.

Most notably, there is a planned closure of the Central Line on the underground between White City and Leytonstone, meaning that travel to Leytonstone station will not be be available.

Fans are alternatively advised to travel to Stratford station on other lines. From which you can either make your way to the ground by foot (around 25 minutes) or take local buses.
