The Robins are delighted to announce the loan signing of wing-back Josh Williams from Championship outfit Birmingham City.
Josh becomes our twelth new signing of the Summer having put pen-to-paper on a new three-year-deal with his parent club earlier this window.
He arrives at the Robins on an initial loan deal until January.
The 20-year-old joined the Blues academy back in 2011, playing his way through the ranks before eventually making his first team debut against Plymouth Argyle in the 2021-22 FA Cup.
Williams made his league debut as a substitute in a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City at the start of last term before making a total of seven second tier apppearances throughout the season.
His move to Cheltenham spells a first stint away from St Andrews for Williams as he searches for his first run of regular minutes in senior football.
Like today's other Deadline Day signing Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Josh trained with his new teammates this morning ahead of our match with Barnsley.
After finishing his first session, Josh spoke to us for the first time as a Robin:
"I am delighted to be here, I heard good things about the club.
"I'm an attacking full back. Hopefully I can create some goals and maybe score some goals as well."
Welcome aboard Josh!
