Five Robins earn international call ups

4 September 2023

Five members of the Cheltenham Town first team squad have recieved international call ups for their respective nations this past week.

Elliot Bonds, Cam Peupion, Luke Southwood, Owen Bevan and Oli Hammond will all represent their countries over the next fortnight.

As a result our Sky Bet League One fixture with Peterborough United at the Weston Homes Stadium has been rescheduled.

We start with Bonds, who heads back across the Atlantic to once again represent Guyana. He's been called up for two CONCACAF Nations League matches against Antigua and Bermuda on Saturday 9th September and the Bahamas on Tuesday 12th September.

As for Southwood, he is away in Europe with Northern Ireland starting with a trip to Ljubljana on Thursday 7th September to take on Slovenia. Michael O'Neill's side then head to Kazakhstan for another European Championship qualifier on Sunday 10th September.

Our Welsh loan contingent of Hammond and Bevan are also in international action with Matthew Jones' Wales U21 squad. They play host to Liechtenstein U21 in Newport on Friday before travelling to Lithuania on Tuesday 12th September.

The last Robin on internationl duty is one of our newest sigings in Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Cam Peupion. He will travel to Tajikistan with the Australia U23's to take on Laos and Tajikistan in U23 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Best of luck lads!
