Celebrate with us this Sunday

3 May 2023

This weekend we plan to celebrate both the past and the present at our final game of another memorable season.

We will be inviting members of the 1998 FA Trophy winning squad back to the Completely-Suzuki Stadium, marking the 25th anniversary of our 1-0 win over Southport at Wembley.

Sunday's game is our nearest to the key date of May 17 when Steve Cotterill's side collected the club's first major honour under the twin towers to kickstart our modern story a quarter of a century ago.

The likes of Jason Eaton, Lee 'Archie' Howells, Keith Knight, Darren Wright and Mark Crisp will be on hand to mark the occasion and they will join Mark Cuzner and DJ Shippers in the Robins Nest beforehand. They will also make an appearance on the pitch at half-time.

With League One safety already assured, we want the occasion against Charlton Athletic to be a celebration of how far we've come. Since that famous day in 1998 we have won the (equivalent of the) National League twice, two Cardiff play-off finals and the League Two title. There was our first appearance at the new Wembley Stadium in 2012 and the unsuccessful play-off campaign 12 months later, plus a host of occasions against Premier League opponents. Now we're planning our seventh campaign in League One.

Therefore we’re asking supporters to roll back the years and squeeze into their favourite retro shirts for the afternoon. Show your colours and parade the good, bad and the ugly of the club’s back catalogue inside the ground. There will also be a suitably '90s Selco playlist and a souvenir programme.

We are also delighted to welcome back the Norwegian Robins supporters' group who will be in attendance on Sunday. The group have been coming to Cheltenham for over 20 years, and we look forward to seeing them back at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium this weekend.

The presentations of the various player of the season awards will happen prior to kick-off and we will continue the party after the final whistle with DJ Shippers providing the tunes.

Remember the match on Sunday will kick-off at midday. More details and information about the game will be released soon.

Season tickets for the 23/24 season are now available online, as well as tickets for the match against Charlton on Sunday.
