Long on Exeter

17 March 2023

Cheltenham captain Sean Long gave his verdict on the season so far and their preparation for facing Exeter City in League One tomorrow.

The Robins have picked up seven points from their last three league matches, all without conceding a goal. But, skipper Long and the squad aren't getting ahead of themselves, with 10 important games to go.

"This group doesn't get too carried away when we win. We are all honest lads who know we have another tough game this weekend against Exeter," said Long.

Cheltenham have picked up 14 clean sheets in the league campaign now, an achievement earned by the whole squad in Long's eyes.

"It's not just the defenders who get the clean sheets. The whole team contribute. As we know from the game against Peterborough, the lads upfront and in midfield, the work they put in was scary."

It's been confirmed that Cheltenham's peformance against the Posh last week was the most presses in a League One game all season by a side - a key factor in the hard-earned victory for Wade Elliott's team.

Our Double Header takes place tomorrow, where Cheltenham Town Ladies host London Bees (6:30PM KO). All tickets purchased for our match against the Grecians gain free entry for the Robinesses match after, so come and support the Ladies and help us break their attendance record.
