Keena: "I'm delighted to be here"

31 January 2023

New Robins forward Aidan Keena is eager to kick on with the Robins after joining on Sunday from Sligo Rovers.

“I’m delighted to be here and hopefully I can hit the ground running to help us stay in the league,” said Keena.

“I came on a lot last year. I improved my game all over the pitch so I definitely think I can come here and make a difference.”

The 23-year-old was the top scorer in the Irish Premier Division last season, finding the net 18 times for the Bit O'Red. After a year at the Showgrounds, Kenna is now looking to get settled with his new club.

“I’ve been all over the place, with different clubs at different levels across a few countries. A lot of experience, but I’d definitely want to settle, knuckle down and do well for the club.”

Keena, who will wear the number 27 for the Robins, had been in pre-season training for Sligo, and believes he is only a couple of games away from kicking off his Cheltenham Town career.

"I feel alright, but it may be one or two games at most before I play, but I'm ready to hit the ground running."
