December Player of the Month Shortlist

5 January 2023

You can now vote for your December Player of the Month, presented by HGV Drivers UK.

Vote here to have your say on who you think should win our award for last month.

Luke Southwood continues to feature in our list of Player of the Month nominees, and maybe this month may be his, after just missing out to Ryan Broom in November. The goalkeeper has continued to put fine performances between the sticks for the Robins, and now at matches you can often hear the Cheltenham faithful chant, 'super Luke Southwood in goal!'

Midfielder Elliot Bonds is up for December nomination. It was his direct ball towards Alfie May which forced a defensive mistake, and lead to our goal in the win over Charlton Athletic at the Valley. Amongst his four appearances across the month, Bonds was very good in our hard-fought win over Shrewsbury Town, and despite the loss to Plymouth Argyle, he also stood out on the pitch for the Robins.

November POTM Ryan Broom is also in contention for this month's award. The Welshman scored in our 4-0 victory over Chelsea U21s in the Papa Johns Trophy, and was another stand out player across the month - whether playing in the middle of the park, or at right wing-back.

Liam Sercombe is our final nominee for December's Player of the Month. The 32-year-old was a key part in creating the goal scored away to Shrewsbury, and in our win over Charlton he made his 600th career appearance.

Voting will close next week for the HGV Drivers UK Player of the Month, and the winner will be announced shortly after.
