Liam Sercombe gave his immediate thoughts following Cheltenham Town's harsh 3-2 defeat on penalties to Plymouth Argyle in the Papa Johns Trophy.
The Robins put on a valiant display for the 90 minutes, and took the lead early in the second half through Alfie May. However, it wasn't to be after Plymouth keeper Callum Burton made three shootout saves to deny Cheltenham of a trip to Wembley.
Following the match, Sercombe was adamant that if his side replicate last nights performance, they will stay in League One.
"We need to put in performances like we did tonight against second in the league. It was a performance we can be proud of, and we'll try and take it into Saturday against Portsmouth."
