Goalkeeper Luke Southwood has continued his good performances in goal for the Robins in the opening month of the calender year. The 25-year-old picked up his 10th Sky Bet League One clean sheet of the season against Port Vale.
Alfie May has started 2023 very well, scoring in four of his last five League One matches. His goalscoring run has now taken him to nine for the season, and Robins fans will be hoping he continues this run and emulates the second half of last season.
Young defender Caleb Taylor enters this list for the first time with a senior goal to his name. The promising centre-back, on loan from West Bromwich Albion, scored and assisted on his 20th birthday in the 3-2 loss v Derby County. Taylor has performed well amongst a much changed backline for January, due to the injury to Lewis Freestone and suspension to Charlie Raglan, but is a favourite for the Robins' Young Player of the Season award.
Voting will close next week for the HGV Drivers UK Player of the Month, and the winner will be announced shortly after.
