Keena after his brace v Wycombe

29 April 2023

Aidan Keena spoke to the media after his two goals helped the Robins to a 3-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers.

Keena opened the scoring in the first half, converting a well taken penalty that he had won after good footwork in the box. Adding to his afternoon's tally in the 88th minute when he capitalised on a error in the hosts backline.

Alfie May added his 19th League One goal of the season firing home from inside the box, moving the club to 16th in the table on 53 points.

"Last weekend was a good performance, but we let ourselves down during the week so it was important that for the fans who travelled down today that we put in a performance," said Keena.

After scoring late on infront of the away support, Keena was embraced by a flurrish of Town supporters in fancy dress on their final away match of the campaign. When asked if he had celebrated with a traffic cone, the Irishman said: "I think it's a first! But, it was important today we came and put on a performance for the fans after midweek."
