Elliott previews Oxford United away

24 April 2023

Cheltenham head coach Wade Elliott looked ahead to his sides away visit to the Kassam Stadium tomorrow evening against Oxford United.

Both teams first played each other back in August at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium, with the U's coming out 2-1 winners.

Now, the Robins are safe after beating Forest Green Rovers 3-1 at the weekend, where as Oxford will be after all three points in their battle for safety.

In his pre-match press conference, sponsored by Selco Builders Warehouse, Elliott gave his thoughts on keeping Cheltenham up in his first full season as head coach: "It was good. It's funny the way the fixtures panned out that we ended up being mathamatically safe on that day, but couldn't of worked out any better.

"I hope everyone enjoyed it because days like that don't come around few and far between!"

Despite the Robins being safe with three games to go, the head coach was adamant his side won't be taking their foot off the gas for the remaining matches.

"We've had two eyes on Oxford since the game ended on Saturday. The focus has been fully on Oxford, and you'll of seen that from the work that's been going on at the training ground.
