Are you heading into post-16 study as of September 2022 and looking for a course that balances playing football while also gaining education qualifications?
The Cheltenham Town Community Trust's highly successful Football & Education Scholarship is a fantastic option for students aged between 16 and 18.
While studying at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium and representing the Robins you can also study for a Leve 3 Extended Diploma in Sport as part of the course.
The academic set-up is aimed at developing students to pursue a career in the sport and leisure industry.
There is a combination of theory and practical lessons in a variety of sports, while GCSE tutoring is available for those who did not gain a 4 in GCSE Maths or English.
Students will train twice a week with a UEFA B qualified coach and will represent Cheltenham Town in the Community & Education Football Alliance League (CEFA).
The entry requirements are as follows:
- At least a grade 4 or above in GCSE English & GCSE Maths*
- GCSE PE/BTEC Sport is desirable but not essential
With a 100% pass rate on the course, 92% of students go onto higher education, while 55% go onto study on the Community Trust's degree programme.
