Cheltenham Town appoint new first team goalkeeping coach and analyst

1 October 2022

Cheltenham Town can confirm James Bittner as our new first team goalkeeping coach, and Thomas Carter as the new first team analyst.

Former professional footballer Bittner joins the Robins following a three-year spell with Championship side Reading as their first team goalkeeping coach.

He has also previously held coaching roles at Plymouth Argyle and Newport County, but before then the 40-year-old had playing spells at a variety of clubs, including Exeter City, Salisbury City and Hereford United.

Local lad Carter joins the Robins with experience as the performance analyst for Birmingham City Women and Portsmouth Women, as well as the first team performance analyst assistant for Forest Green Rovers.

Bittner began working with the first team yesterday, whereas Carter has already been working at the club for a number of weeks.
