The Robins qualified to the Semi-Final of the Gloucestershire County Cup after a 1-0 victory over Yate Town.
Zac Guinan came off the bench for the Robins to score the only goal of the game.
Alfie May, Elliot Bonds and Christian Norton all had notable chances, however the Robins struggled to find the net past Yate keeper Louis Evans.
The Robins will play either Bristol Rovers Development or Cinderford First in the Semi-Final of the County Cup.
With the U-18's in action tomorrow against Plymouth in the FA Youth Cup, Wade Elliott fielded a strong side against the travelling Yate side. May made his first start for Cheltenham since the 2-0 win over Shrewsbury, alongside Charlie Brown and George Lloyd.
However, despite the fire power up top it was Bonds in midfield who would register the first chance of the game for the home side. He struck the ball from distance, but it landed on the roof of the net.
May, Lloyd and Adulai Sambu all had half-chances in first half, however it was the youngester Sambu who shone the brightest in the opening half. The full-back got the better of Yate's Barney Soady multiple times and looked to always find the forwards with good crosses into the penalty area.
The visitors did have their own chances too. Striker Kyle Tooze tested Shaun MacDonald a couple of times from outside the box, with his curling efforts seemingly aimed for the top corner, however nothing too difficult for the 26-year-old to deal with.
During the break, Elliott brought on Dan Adshad, Zac Guinan and Norton, and the two strikers made an instant impact.
Norton was sent through on goal, but was stopped in his tracks from the onrushing Evans. Luckily for the Robins, the ball fell to youngster Guinan who put it into the empty net and gave Cheltenham the lead.
With May off the pitch, MacDonald was called into action a couple times after the goal, however he continued to deny Tooze.
Late on, Norton had a final shot on goal, but was denied again by Evans.
