Lewis Freestone wins October Player of the Month

19 November 2022

Lewis Freestone has been awarded our October Player of the Month, which is presented by HGV Drivers UK.

The 23-year-old has continued the season well at the back for the Robins, and the Robins fans have confirmed this giving Freestone his second Player of the Month award in as many months.

Over 400 Robins fans voted from our October Player of the Month shortlist, and Freestone was picked by 41% of the voters, winning the award ahead of Caleb Taylor, Luke Southwood and Liam Sercombe.

Up until today's game, Freestone was the only outfield player to play in every League One match for the Robins. He misses the clash against Wycombe due to suspension after receiving five yellow cards across the season, but is back in contention for our Papa John's Trophy match against Forest Green Rovers.

He was voted as the man of the match in our draw against MK Dons, and his stellar performances have led to Robins fans composing a new chant for the young defender.
