Selco Builders Warehouse fund free supporters travel for Charlton Athletic

8 November 2022

Cheltenham Town fans will enjoy free coach travel for next month’s Sky Bet League One trip to Charlton Athletic – thanks to a leading builders merchant opening a new branch in the area.

Selco Builders Warehouse, a partner of the club, takes the wraps off its new branch in Festival Park in Runnings Road on Monday, December 5.

As a pre-Christmas gesture, Selco has elected to fund the travel of any supporter travelling on the club’s official coaches. Places can be booked on the coaches when purchasing a ticket, which go on sale on Thursday, November 10.

Head coach Wade Elliott said: “This is a brilliant gesture from Selco and hugely appreciated by myself and all the players.

“It’s a huge ask for supporters to make the trip to Charlton on a Friday night in the current economic climate but hopefully the offer of free travel will make it accessible for more fans to give us their backing in London.

“Selco has been extremely supportive of the club since becoming a partner at the start of the season and we are hugely grateful they have decided to mark the new branch opening by paying for the travel of fans for an away game against a big League One club in Charlton.”

The new Cheltenham branch will be Selco’s 74th in the UK and offers tradespeople a vast range of stock at trade prices to cover all their jobs.

Carine Jessamine, marketing director of Selco Builders Warehouse, said: “With the cost of living, the fact the game has been moved to a Friday night and the festive season fast approaching, we wanted to bring Cheltenham Town fans some early Christmas cheer.

“We are hoping free coach travel will encourage more fans to make the trip and the team can respond with a big performance and three points.

“As a partner of the club, there is no better way to mark the opening of our new branch than to give something back to the Cheltenham Town supporters.”

With hundreds of trade brands always in stock, Selco’s branches are firmly focused on helping tradespeople complete their jobs as quickly and effectively as possible.

As well as offering trade services, Selco also has a strong digital presence including Click & Deliver and Click & Collect services and a new app to make life as convenient as possible for tradespeople.
