Under-18s clinch Luton win

15 March 2022

Felix Miles put his mark on Cheltenham Town under-18s EFL Youth Alliance Merit League Two clash at the weekend with two goals to see off Championship side Luton Town at the training ground.

Free scoring Luton Town looked to continue their fine start to the Merit League Two campaign after a 6-0 win over Swindon Town, 4-0 win over Leyton Orient and a 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon had given them an unbeaten start.

Their confidence was quickly crushed when Zac Guinan struck early on to give Cheltenham the lead.

Felix Miles then struck twice from 30 yards, bending a shot into the far corner and doing the same with a free kick to send the Robins in ahead at the break.

A second half resurgence saw the visitors pull two goals back to make it 3-2 and set the game up for a tense finish.

Cheltenham looked to have quashed any hope as they found the net only for referee James West to rule it out for a foul on the defender.

The fourth goal did eventually come, Fin Jenner putting the home side two goals to the good to seal an important win.

It was a day to remember for under-15s player Cameron Walters who made his League debut for the under-18s side.
