Reaction: Duff on Plymouth Argyle

23 March 2022

After seeing his team miss out on the points at Plymouth Argyle, Michael Duff believed his players could have taken something from their 2-0 defeat at Home Park.

Two first half goals helped Argyle continue their rampant form at the top of League One as they made it six straight wins with Cheltenham their latest victims.

But despite not finding a way past impressive Plymouth goalkeeper Michael Cooper, the Robins were well in the contest all evening and created some good openings in an open affair that went the side of the in form Pilgrims.

"I didn’t think there was anything in the game to be honest," Duff said.

"I have not seen the stats, but I’d imagine possession was fairly even and shots too.

"Their 'keeper has made two or three fantastic saves and the ball has not quite dropped for us and ultimately the goal that has won them the game is an absolute worldy and sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say it was just a bit of magic.

"I thought we were okay but it’s the really fine margins of trying to get a win away from home against a team who are going for the play-offs.

"We didn’t quite fall the right side of those today, but it was a decent performance. Did we do enough to win it? No. But I thought we could have nicked something definitely."

There is another away journey to come on Saturday with a visit to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday in a 3pm kick-off.

You can purchase tickets and away travel for the game against the Owls online or from the ticket office.
