Reaction: Duff on Morecambe

12 March 2022

Manager Michael Duff was delighted that a long week ended with an away three points for his team at Morecambe.

The Robins came away with all three points at the Mazuma Stadium thanks to goals from Liam Sercombe, Callum Wright and Alfie May against last season's League Two play-off winners.

It's the first away victory for the team in 2022 and Duff was pleased that his squad got the job done against a team fighting for their lives at the lower end of the table.

"It's the first time we've won away from home in four months and at this stage of the season wins are important," he said.

"We've not been great on a Saturday when it has been a Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday and to do it with two away games in that as well and a long overnighter is brilliant.

"I didn't think it was going to be a pretty game today with the state of the League, the state of the pitch and the amount that was on it. They would have one hundred per cent have identified this as a game to get themselves out of trouble.

"They drew with Ipswich here in their last home game so they make it really difficult."
