Preview: Blair on Doncaster Rovers

4 March 2022

Matty Blair is expecting a similar style of game on Saturday when Cheltenham Town host Doncaster Rovers to last weekend's fixture against Crewe Alexandra, but is hoping for a very different result.

He's set to line up against his former club as the Robins look to get back to winning ways on home turf.

Doncaster, like last week's opposition, are fighting for their lives as they battle to get out of the relegation zone and Blair knows how much of a scrap it will be on Saturday, though this time the level of performance is going to need to be a lot better if the team are to come out on the right side of the result.

"It's going to be a very similar game because people will look at that game against Crewe and think we should beat them because Crewe are bottom of the league and obviously Doncaster are second bottom," he said.

"People are going to think the same again but the definition of insanity is you do the same thing over and you expect a different result.

"It's a case of making sure we are fully at it every single game we play to have a chance of winning the game. That's down to us as players, that's down to us to provide the energy and to provide the atmosphere as well and give people things to cheer about and excite and get everyone going."
