Promising defender Caleb Taylor joins on a season-long loan

22 July 2022

Cheltenham Town have secured the services of promising defender Caleb Taylor, on a season-long loan from West Bromwich Albion.

Taylor is the clubs' third loan signing of the summer, and quickly joins the Robins following the acqusition of right-back Ryan Jackson. The deal was completed with support from our partners, The Little Jet Company

The 19-year-old is highly rated by the Baggies, but he joins Cheltenham as he takes his first professional loan move in his career.

He came off the bench in Albion's 4-0 victory over Barnsley on the final day of last season, and has also featured in the FA and EFL cup competitions following impressive performances for the club's U-23 side.

"I'm really excited to join Cheltenham. It will be a great experience for me to play mens football," said Taylor.

"Everyone at the club has made me feel very welcomed which has been great."

In recent times, Cheltenham has helped loan players to thrive in a first-team environment, which played a big factor in Taylor choosing the club.

"I've seen the success centre-backs have had here and I feel like it's the perfect place to develop my skills and to push me further in my career."

Taylor joins the Robins ahead of tomorrow's pre-season friendly against Northampton Town. Tickets are still available for the game online now, or you can purchase them at the ticket office.
