A new chapter: home kit for 2022/23 revealed

15 July 2022

Here it is, the new shirt for a new chapter.

Cheltenham Town have this morning revealed their new home strip for the forthcoming League One campaign.

Modern in design, it celebrates some of the most important figures in the club’s history.

The shirt retains its pin-stripe design, this time on a darker red shirt with collar.

It has an updated version of our club crest, emblazoned on a new rubberised badge.

Its silver features mark 25 years of working together with our technical kit partners at Errea, thought to be the longest partnership of its kind in the EFL.

The fabric is made to Oeko-tex standard certification.

And as we reported yesterday, Mira Showers will continue as our principal partners for a 15th season.

The design itself is a nod to the 1982/83 title winning side, spearheaded by the club’s record goal scorer Dave Lewis. The legendary striker bagged 290 goals in total and was recently added to our car park mural at the Completely-Motoring Stadium.

Alan Wood’s side set out 40 years ago this summer to claim the club’s first title in its history and paved the way for the club’s success today. To pay tribute we’ve added 1982/83 and a star in the neckline.

The new shirt, complemented by red shorts and white socks, is the final piece of our ‘history makers’ campaign this summer. It included our record breaking season ticket drive and the collaboration with the Cheltenham Paint Festival.

About the shoot

We are thrilled to be working with Tom Barton Photography on today’s launch. Tom is a locally based photographer, specialising in sports advertising and still life. He has over a decade of commercial experience with England, a host of Premier League clubs and numerous big brands.

For the shoot itself we invited summer signings Tom Bradbury and Dan Adshead to join Jade Grove and Em Owen from Cheltenham Town Ladies, who are entering the third tier of English football for the first time. Season ticket holders will be able to cheer them on in their FA Women's National League Southern Premier campaign as part of our offering in 2022/23.

How to buy the shirt

Our shop will be open today until 3pm for purchases in person. All online sales between now and 11am tomorrow will be available for collection from midday (on Saturday) before the first home friendly against Cardiff City. Kick-off is 3pm. We will be wearing the kit for the first time against the Welsh side.

It is priced £45 for adults and £35 for youth sizes.

We will continue to wear ‘The 703’ blue away shirt during 2022/23, also available through our online shop and in the store. We will wear this new home kit for the next two seasons.
