Reaction: Wright on Burton Albion

9 January 2022

Callum Wright's start to 2022 continues to be a bright one as he made it back-to-back games with a goal, though he believed his teammates should have been celebrating three points instead of just one on Saturday against Burton Albion.

The Leicester City loanee produced another excellent finish to find the net again following his opener last weekend against Oxford United.

He was thwarted with further good chances by some brave Burton defending, while the Robins also hit the crossbar twice in the 90 minutes against the Brewers.

He admitted after the game that it was disappointing not to get all three points after a positive performance.

"We always knew it was going to be a tough game against them. They're a good side - tough and physical - similar to us really," he said.

"They came out flying second half but I don't think they were any better than us. It was a disappointing result but it was a good point at the end of the day.

"We felt really good on the pitch. We should have put it out of sight. There were a few good blocks from them."

The midfielder will be aiming to make it three weeks in a row of success in front of goal when Charlton Athletic visit the Jonny-Rocks Stadium next on Saturday 15 January.

You can purchase tickets for the match online at any time, while it's also possible to visit the ticket office during opening hours to buy in person. All tickets bought before midnight on Friday are £2 cheaper than on the day prices.
