Reaction: Nlundulu on Charlton Athletic

16 January 2022

Dan Nlundulu was happy to get his first Cheltenham Town goal but was left frustrated that the team couldn't take advantage of the other chances they created in the 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic.

Charlton's equaliser, deep into stoppage time, was gut-wrenching for the Robins who had fought so well all afternoon and saw a number of good openings in front of goal fail to add to Nlundulu's first half finish.

To get off the mark in just his second showing for the club was a real positive, and the Southampton loanee feels he's joined the right club if he is to keep progressing and add to the experience he's already built up in his short career.

"It's so nice to get my first goal at home. We're obviously disappointed with the end of the game but it's one of those things we need to learn from," he said.

"It felt a bit like our last game against Burton - another game where we didn't take what we deserved, but the boys are on it. We are a hard working team as you can see.

"We created chances. It's time to focus, we've got a long week again. We have to go again."

He'll be looking to add to his first goal for the club when we make the trip on Saturday 22 January to Rotherham United next.
