Ramsey 'on his next step' at Cheltenham Town

11 January 2022

New loan signing Aaron Ramsey says spending time at Cheltenham Town is just the next step forward in his career that ne needs.

The 18-year-old sealed a switch to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium this week on a loan agreement from Premier League side Aston Villa until the end of the season.

It's his first loan away from Villa Park where he has been a part of their academy system since the age of seven.

With a first team appearance to his name already for Villa, plus international experience training with the under-21s squad and featuring in the under-19s, making his Football League debut is the direction he wants to see his career heading in.

"It's the next step. I want to play men's football and this is the right place to do it," he said.

"League One football is the next step. I need the experience and I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to get started.

"I can't wait to be on the pitch and show everyone what I'm about."
