If this Cheltenham Town team can act on the beliefs and values they set themselves, then midfielder Conor Thomas feels they give themselves a chance of winning games in League One.
The former Coventry City man knows that the kind of showing that the Robins produced on the road at Oxford United last Saturday is vital if they are to compete in the third tier.
He is hoping to play his part in Saturday's home contest with Burton Albion, and knows that if the team do the basics they set themselves right, that they'll give themselves a significant opportunity of picking up a positive result.
"We know what to expect. It is going to be another tough game," he said.
"The gaffer has made a point of it as a collective that we've been a bit flakey. Saturday looked more like us - more solid, more resolute.
"The type of team we are we need to build on that. We have team beliefs and values we try and tick off every game.
"If we do that it gives us the foundation to go and get a good result."
