Preview: Duff on Rotherham United

20 January 2022

Michael Duff wants his team to put on an improved performance when coming up against one of League One's leading sides when Cheltenham Town visit Rotherham United on the weekend.

He is calling for his players to be better against one of the top teams in the third tier as the team chase a first victory in 2022.

The players came so close to achieving just that last weekend against Charlton Athletic who secured a point with a late equaliser at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium, but Saturday's challenge will be a whole new test in South Yorkshire.

"I don't think they've lost at home since the 10th or 11th of September," he said.

"We know what's ahead - they do every part of the game well. They're fit, they're organised, they're physical, they can play - so there's a reason why they're top of the league.

"They were in the Championship last year and you can see why they were in the Championship last year.

"If you think you're going to get two or three touches think again because you're going to get pressed. We just need to be better than what we have done when we've gone up against better teams in the first half of the season."
