Preview: Duff on AFC Wimbledon

31 January 2022

Michael Duff has warned his team that they will be taking on a very together AFC Wimbledon side on Tuesday.

His team's next outing takes place in the capital on Tuesday in a 17th against 20th clash.

Following Saturday's impressive performance in a 0-0 draw against high flying Wigan Athletic, another good showing is required if Cheltenham are to come out on top.

"They are in a difficult run, the same as us," he said.

"I went to watch them last week against Ipswich and they're a really young team - I think the youngest team in the League - and there's a really positive atmosphere around the whole place. You wouldn't know they were in a difficult run, you wouldn't know they were near the bottom end of the table.

"They started to lose the game but there was a real positivity with each other. The atmosphere at the ground there were no moans or groans.

"They've already stuck four on us there this season so we should know what we're going to get. We went 1-0 up and then in an hour we're 4-1 down. We took our foot off the gas. That should be a warning shot for the players.

"You can't be up for the two big games against the Rotherham's and the Wigan's and then think we'll be all right. We're the smallest club in the League so we need to fight like we're the smallest team in the League."
