Charlie Colkett has joined Cheltenham Town on a contract lasting until the end of the season.

Having returned to England in recent weeks following a three year spell playing in the Swedish top flight for Östersunds FK, he has been training with the club and has now agreed a deal to become part of the Robins squad.

A central midfielder, Colkett has League One experience from time spent previously at Bristol Rovers, Swindon Town and Shrewsbury Town in loan spells having come through the youth system at Chelsea.

While at Stamford Bridge he also spent time playing in the Eredivisie for Vitesse, also representing the Dutch side in the UEFA Europa League, appearing against the likes of Lazio and Nice.

The 25-year-old is also a former England youth international, while he twice won the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League in his time at Stamford Bridge, alongside the likes of Tammy Abraham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount.

Commenting on signing for the club he said: "I'm delighted and over the moon. I can't wait to get going and help towards the rest of the season.

"I had an experience abroad, a nice experience, but I'm delighted to be back on home soil and am looking forward to getting the ball rolling."

He will be available for the squad for the upcoming match at Rotherham United on Saturday at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.
