No excuses for Raglan after Crewe defeat

28 February 2022

Charlie Raglan said there were no excuses after Saturday's disappointing home defeat to Crewe Alexandra.

Chris Porter's late goal ensured Crewe took all three points with them back to Cheshire in a 2-1 victory despite Kion Etete's second half goal.

A flat showing ended what has been a good unbeaten run for Raglan and his teammates.

"[We're] disappointed in our performances, as a group, individually we built it up, we said we had to turn up like any game really and no excuses. Obviously we're disappointed with the goals but we were beaten fair and square. We've got to defend better than that for the goals," he said.

"On the whole we just didn't play as well as we can do - simple as that. It's disappointing, we obviously don't want to turn out performances like that and hopefully it is just one of those days and we can put it to bed quickly."

The team will be looking to put the result and performance right on Saturday when Doncaster Rovers visit the Jonny-Rocks Stadium for a 3pm kick-off.

It is the final game in the Kids for a Quid campaign where under-16s can watch in all areas of the stadium for a price of £1. Use the voucher code QUIDKID online to take advantage of the offer.

Tickets for the match are also £2 cheaper than matchday prices when purchased in advance before midnight on Friday.
