Sercombe on Shrewsbury win & facing Bristol Rovers

31 December 2022

Liam Sercombe spoke to the media after the Robins' 1-0 win at Shrewsbury Town to reflect on the victory and to look towards Bristol Rovers.

Sercombe played the full 90 minutes and was involved heavily in the winner after a one-two with fullback Ryan Jackson, who went on to assist Dan Nlundulu to score the goal.

"I made an option for Jacko to play the one-two with me. It was a great ball from him and a good finish from Dan," said Sercombe.

"It's a big three points, and now we need to carry it on to Sunday."

Rovers beat the Robins 4-1 at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium earlier in the season, and the former Gas player is confident such a score line won't be repeated again.

"I remember the game, there were a lot of mistakes that got punished. It was a fake score line, but we'll look to put in a good performance and come away with the three points."

If Sercombe features tomorrow, it will be his 100th league appearance for Cheltenham since joining the club back in the summer of 2020-a thoroughly enjoyable two and a half years for the 32-year-old.

"I love playing for Cheltenham. My time here has been very enjoyable, we've had a lot of success and it's a great place with great staff."

You can watch Sercombe's full press conference in the video above.

Tickets for tomorrow's match can now only be purchased at the ground, but the game is also available to watch live on iFollow
