Match Pack: Shrewsbury Town (A)

28 December 2022

Cheltenham Town will play their final match of 2022 tomorrow evening against Shrewsbury Town at Montgomery Waters Meadow (7:45PM KO).

The first return fixture of Cheltenham's league campaign will take place tomorrow as we aim to get back to winning ways against the Shrews.

The first meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-0 home victory thanks to goals from Sean Long and Alfie May.

However, Robins legend and Salop manager Steve Cotterill will demand a better performance than the one shown in early October. His side had won twice on the bounce in the league, however on Boxing Day they lost 2-1 away to Cambridge United.

Speaking ahead of the match, Wade Elliott said: "This season Shrewsbury have been really good. We had two really tough games against them last year, and I won't expect anything different on Thursday."

"They are really good at set plays. The stats tell you that, so we know we will have to be organised and brave on set-pieces."

Tickets in the D M Recruitment Stand are still available for tomorrow's game and the full price list can be found below.

Adults: £22

Senior (65+): £16

Young Adult (19-23): £16

A new set of actions will be implemented across all English football leagues for the 2022/23 season and will be backed by the Football Supporters’ Association. They will target activity such as entering the pitch without permission, carrying or using smoke bombs or pyrotechnics and throwing objects - as well as drug use and discriminatory behaviour.

Anyone caught possessing or using pyrotechnics will be reported to the police and prosecution could result in a permanent criminal record. The pitch must remain safe for players, managers and match officials, just as the stands should be for supporters.
