Important information regarding the heatwave this weekend

11 August 2022

With more high temperatures forecast for this weekend, supporters are urged to take precautions to ensure that they can enjoy the match against Portsmouth without suffering any ill effects from the heat.

The Colin Farmer Stand sponsored by JM Weston Construction in particular tends to face the direct sunlight so supporters are encouraged to put on suncream and consider bringing a hat and sunglasses.

Supporters are also encouraged to keep well hydrated. The bars and catering units will be well stocked with water and the safety team will be allowing supporters to bring their own plastic water bottles into the ground.

Please note that bottles must be made of plastic (as opposed to hard-sided containers) and we also suggest that those attending the match ensure that they have a drink of water before leaving home.

The Football League have issued a protocol to referees to introduce a water break around 25 minutes into each half if temperatures are forecast to reach 30 degrees celsius.

Referees will stop the game when the ball goes out of play and allow both teams to take on water for no longer than two minutes. This time will then be included within the additional time at the end of each half.

Tickets for all areas of the ground are available to purchase in advance at

A reminder that tickets can now be printed at home or downloaded to your phone so this reduces the need for ticket collection queues at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium.

For those unable to access the ticket office online, a quantity of pre-printed tickets is also made available to purchase from either the ticket office or the dedicated booths in the main car park and next to the Colin Farmer Stand sponsored by JM Weston Construction at the 'Parklands' entrance.
