Reaction: Sercombe on Portsmouth

10 April 2022

Liam Sercombe was pleased that Saturday's victory over Portsmouth brought with it a clean sheet as well as three points.

His second half goal secured maximum points against Pompey to wrap-up a good second half showing at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

But having conceded goals away from home of late, the experienced midfielder was as pleased that the team's solidity led to no goals being conceded at the other end of the pitch.

"We passed the ball around a lot more than we have done," he said.

"It's always nice to keep a clean sheet. We looked solid.

"We said in there that if it wasn't for their 'keeper we probably could have put a few more away.

"They did have a couple of chances but not too many clear-cut. It's nice to get another three points and keep a clean sheet which is a big thing for us because we've conceded quite a few goals lately. That was a big positive."
