Reaction: Brown on Accrington Stanley

3 April 2022

In all of the drama of Cheltenham Town's 4-4 draw at Accrington Stanley on Saturday, there was also a second half debut for January signing Charlie Brown.

The striker, who moved to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium in January from MK Dons, has yet to make an appearance for the club after picking up an injury a short time after signing on an 18-month contract.

But finally having recovered from his injury he came onto the pitch for the final ten minutes and stoppage time of Saturday's encounter at the Wham Stadium and was in and amongst it as Michael Duff's charges fought back to earn a dramatic point at the death against their hosts.

"It was an enjoyable game to come onto," he said.

"I just wanted to help the team as best as I could but I couldn't have predicted what happened after I did come on. In the end we're glad to come away with a point.

"It has been a long time coming [his debut] so I was itching to get on watching how the game was going. It's been a tough couple of months in rehab with the physios but they've done a great job and I just can't wait to kick on now in the last few games of this season and come back ready and stronger for next season."
